Jassim bin Seif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti
Minister of Transport & Communications
The Ministry of Transport & Communications is delighted to receive you in Qatar for the 5th ICAO Global Aviation Training and TRAINAIR PLUS Symposium. Our strong commitment to ICAO’s No Country Left Behind Initiative is demonstrated by this event where we are actively enabling the ICAO to assist States in implementing ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices, most importantly in the area of aviation training.
Transportation and communication play a vital role in all areas of modern life. They ensure the delivery of goods and services for individuals and communities, underpin the growth of other sectors, such as agriculture, industry, mining and trade and drive the development of modern cities, societies and economies.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications, represented by Qatar Aeronautical College, will do its best to host you and make you feel at home during your stay in Doha.
Welcome to Qatar.
Dr. Fang Liu
ICAO Secretary General
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO’s) Fifth Global Aviation Training and TRAINAIR PLUS Symposium, generously hosted this year in Doha, Qatar.
This event provides a forum where ICAO Member States and training organizations come together to forge new partnership opportunities in aviation training, and at the same time increase their awareness of key near- and long-term capacity-building priorities for global air transport.
The theme of this year’s Symposium will focus on Building Aviation Training Intelligence. This references how, in today’s world of information abundance, data collected through various sources needs to be structured and managed in a coherent and functional way, in order to generate decision-useful information, or ‘intelligence’. In the field of civil aviation training, it is critical to be able to identify the appropriate intelligence that will allow us to provide optimal aviation training solutions for both individuals and groups.
This year’s Symposium will also explore ways to broaden the management approaches of training centre leaders to practice effective decision-making that will optimize their operations and ensure they build targeted training portfolios that meet needs. Speakers will also address some challenges, solutions and tools to help organizations foster and lead effective change management processes.
The Symposium is open to Members of the TRAINAIR PLUS Programme (TPP), all industry stakeholders, and academic institutions. It will also provide a forum for TPP Members to discover new programme features and benefits, develop new business opportunities, and promote their training organization and products.
You are most welcome to the Symposium and I look forward to seeing you in Doha!
